Control Flow — Not Data Flow
Vellum’s unique graph execution layer relies on Control Flow rather than Data Flow. Edges between Nodes define the order of operations, and Nodes can reference the output of any upstream Node, as well as any global inputs to the Workflow itself.
First Class Error Handling
Great AI systems should prioritize being fault-tolerant. Vellum provides a framework for gracefully handling third-party errors by making it easy to retry LLM calls, fall back to other providers and when needed, fail early.
Native Looping, Parallelism, and Streaming
